BUILD uses entrepreneurship-based, experiential learning to ignite the potential of high school students from under-resourced communities and create an actual, real-life business. Students connect with mentors from the business community, come up with business ideas, and work with their mentors to write an executable business plan. BUILD has helped incubate more than 750 youth businesses.

Build UP, or Build Urban Prosperity, is the nation's first early-college workforce development high school that empowers low-income students to build careers, rebuild their neighborhoods, and become first-generation homeowners. Recognizing that breaking cycles of generational poverty requires disruptive thinking, Build UP equips students to revitalize their own communities from the inside out. Students participate in a six-year program that includes a high school diploma, an associate degree or industry credential, home renovation training, and paid work experiences — culminating in zero-interest mortgages to own their own homes.

Café Momentum empowers justice-involved youth ages 15-19 through a paid internship program at a renowned nonprofit restaurant, offering 12 months of training in culinary skills. Unlike other workforce development programs, Cara doesn’t solely focus on resumes and interview skills. It helps people address and unroot the underlying causes of strife and build optimism for the future. Cara prepares people for long-term success. Cara also partners with employers to continue educating and implementing inclusive employment practices.

CarePortal

CarePortal connects churches, caseworkers, and community institutions to provide real-time support to families in need. Its innovative software empowers case workers to submit requests on behalf of their clients and activates local volunteers to support and build relationships with families. CarePortal leverages this community involvement as a preventative solution for the nearly 270,000 children in the U.S. entering the foster care system. It offers a holistic, community-driven approach to providing direct support to vulnerable children and families.
