Rise
Thriving together
An estimated 46 million Americans struggle with alcohol and substance use. Rise is a collaboration between Stand Together Foundation and organizations including The Phoenix that use connection, community, and self-reliance to break the cycle of addiction.
Rethinking recovery
Scott Strode is no stranger to addiction. After struggling for years with substance use, his recovery journey led through the boxing gym and peer-to-peer sports. In 2006, at nine years sober, he had a vision for how his own fitness journey could support others in recovery. The Phoenix was born.
Rise with The Phoenix
Social isolation has long been accepted as part of the recovery process. The Phoenix is a free and inclusive community that challenges this norm by encouraging people to harness their internal strength, resiliency, and self-reliance to get and stay sober. It combines group fitness and activities to combat isolation and eliminate stigma. Stand Together Foundation and The Phoenix aim to help one million people beat addiction by 2026.
Rise with 1 Million Strong
Music shapes our cultural values, and historically, this includes glamorizing substance use. 1 Million Strong is a campaign led by The Phoenix that provides sober-inclusive options and resources to fans, artists, and industry professionals, making it easier to talk about and overcome addiction—and live more fulfilling lives. Stand Together Foundation and 1 Million Strong aim to make “empowered recovery” the new standard for recovery.
