LIBRE helps North Carolina Latinos seize economic opportunity.
In Charlotte, The LIBRE Initiative gathered Latinos to hear from real estate specialists on tax policy and homeownership.
North Carolina’s Latino population grew by more than 4% between 2024 and 2025. And the rising cost of housing and property taxes is hitting this community especially hard.
That’s why LIBRE is connecting these families to resources and education about related policies affecting the Tar Heel State.
At the team’s latest forum in the state’s most populous city, more than a dozen attendees learned about reforms making life more affordable and how they can reap the benefits of legislation like the One Big Beautiful Bill.

The LIBRE team was joined by real estate specialists who shared their expertise to help these families achieve the American Dream of homeownership in North Carolina.

The forum helped Tar Heel State Latinos understand how to navigate purchasing a home and paying property taxes, unlocking greater economic opportunity for these families.
And the LIBRE team has scaled this work all over the country.

The reform, which LIBRE has partnered with Gov. Abbott on, is designed to empower Texans to roll back taxes, limit local spending, and make it harder for lawmakers to raise taxes.
To pass, the reform will need the support of state lawmakers. LIBRE activists are knocking doors all over the state to share how constituents can contact their legislators and urge them to vote in favor of the constitutional amendment.
Thanks to your bold commitment to the largest Latino grassroots army in the nation, LIBRE’s team is helping advance good legislation to make life more affordable in states like Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas.
