Teaching the Autism Community Trades

Teaching the Autism Community Trades (TACT) exists to break the historical patterns of unemployment among individuals with autism spectrum disorder, a group with one of the highest levels of unemployment in the country. Through highly individualized training and employer partnerships, TACT provides opportunities for adults with autism to leverage their unique gifts and work in skilled trades where they can thrive. In the process, TACT is writing a new narrative: that all people are capable of extraordinary things.

The Arthur Project is a sanctuary for healing, exploration, and academic engagement in two bustling Bronx schools. At The Arthur Project, clinicians-in-training cultivate sustained relationships with students throughout their middle school experience. These relationships will result in 500 hours of individual and group mentoring per student, providing a more effective approach to mentorship through long-term, structured, and goal-oriented relationships.

The Artist Outreach’s arts-based teaching approach uses self-expression and self-discovery as an alternative way for students to learn foundational early childhood concepts. Students are active participants in the learning process, building connections between the arts and everyday life and discovering how to apply creative strategies to solve problems.

The Colossian Forum provides leadership training and small-group curricula on a variety of cultural topics based upon a framework of worship that helps Christians transform conflicts into discipleship, not division.

The COMMIT Foundation seeks to provide high-touch transition support that becomes the standard nationwide so veterans in all communities can access services helping them identify their passions, build strong networks, and leverage their skills in civilian careers.
