Stagecoach Festival 2023 Partners with 1 Million Strong to Host Sober-Supportive Wellness Tent
Music and Addiction Recovery – Highlighting Inclusive Recovery Solutions
Indio, CA (April 24, 2023) – Today, 1 Million Strong, an initiative dedicated to transforming the way people think about addiction and recovery, announced a partnership with Stagecoach Festival to feature a free sober-supportive wellness retreat space at the 2023 festival.
The 1 Million Strong Wellness Retreat is located on-site in Cactus Corner, directly north of Guy’s Smokehouse, and will offer a space to relax, enjoy the music of Stagecoach, and alcohol-free cocktails, as well as connect with other people in recovery, those who are choosing a substance-free festival experience, and their friends and family in a supportive environment. The festival will take place April 28 – 30 in Indio, CA and the 1 Million Strong wellness tent will be available for festival attendees each day when the Stagecoach gates open.
“Partnering with Stagecoach Festival is an opportunity to demonstrate how one can find a rich, full life in recovery,” said Scott Strode, Founder and National Executive Director of The Phoenix. “1 Million Strong and the Phoenix are committed to supporting people in recovery through shared experiences, and Stagecoach is a tremendous experience that should be shared by all.”
Over 46.3 million people currently struggle with a substance use disorder, making the need to change the current approach to addiction an urgent one. 1 Million Strong is an initiative created as a partnership between Stand Together Foundation, Stand Together Music, and The Phoenix.
“Stand Together Music is committed to promoting health and wellness in the music community, and this partnership is an important step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for all festival attendees,” added Colette Weintraub, Head of Stand Together Music. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact that this space will have on festivalgoers, and we’re grateful to partner with Goldenvoice and Stagecoach on this important work.”
The goal of 1 Million Strong is to support one million people in recovery through the strength of community. They have served thousands of fans in partnership with various festivals and events across the country, including Bourbon & Beyond, Louder Than Life, Park City Song Summit, and concerts by artists including The Chainsmokers, bringing new opportunities including mental health and wellness support and Phoenix-lead activities.
Stand Together Foundation is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in America by driving change from within communities and Stand Together Music is an organization that believes that the music industry is uniquely positioned to amplify and accelerate addiction recovery. Meanwhile, The Phoenix is changing the experience of addiction and recovery by using the power of community, empowerment and belonging as a long-term approach to recovery. 83% of their members report remaining sober after three months, as well as reporting a sense of increased meaning in their lives.
