The steep climb in housing prices, low inventory of homes for sale, and labyrinth of steps required to apply for a mortgage can be daunting for first-time home buyers.
One nonprofit, Acts Housing, has created a model that is empowering low-income individuals and families to turn their dreams of homeownership into reality. Better yet, it’s helping them build confidence in their economic abilities and become self-sufficient in the process.
Stand Together is partnering with Acts Housing to bring its model to more cities, including its recent expansion to Beloit, Wisconsin. Learn more about how Christina, a single mother of three, went from living under a bridge after losing her job, to becoming a homeowner in Beloit.
